Lauren Nolan

  • Head Receptionist - Chesham

Lauren joined the Wheelhouse reception team in January 2015. Before joining us she worked in a busy local community pharmacy. 


Lauren studied at Berkshire College of Agriculture and completed a level 3 NVQ in Animal Management. Her love of animals and peoples pets are the reasons she came to work at the Wheelhouse and seeing the patients as they arrive each day is the highlight of her job.

Lauren was promoted to Reception Supervisor for the Chesham branch in November 2016.

At home Lauren has a mengerie of small animals including Gerbils, Hamsters and the odd bunny (or two) most of whom she has rehomed from various backgrounds.

Tara Piernikarczyk

Tara Piernikarczyk

Tara joined the Wheelhouse in August 2011. Previous jobs that Tara has done include working with elderly people with mental health issues and also as a supervisor in a retail shop.

Tara has a black and white cat called Tighe and loves spending time with her friends. She is very enthusiastic about travelling the world one day too!

Tara says that she loves being part of the Wheelhouse team and looks forward to spending many years ahead with us.

Sue Young

Sue started with the Wheelhouse in February 2011, and is a full time member of staff based at our Chesham and Amersham surgery.

In 2012 Sue achieved her NVQ in Customer Care.

Sue has 5 grown up children and 5 grandsons!  She enjoys spending time with her family and holidays with her hubby abroad.

Lorraine Westcott

Lorraine joined the  Wheelhouse team in the summer of 2015 as a part time receptionist.
Her hobbies include photography and her dogs, gardening and cooking plus helping to renovate a 400 year old cottage.

Rose Waterman

Rose Waterman

Previously Rose worked in a customer service environment for 8 years including a veterinary practice as a Patient Care Assistant looking after the animals. Rose took 6 months off to travel and then started working at the Wheelhouse. 


Growing up, Rose was surrounded by animals; Cats, Dogs, Rabbits, Hamsters, Snakes, Tortoises, Chickens, Giant African Land Snails and many more. At the moment Rose has many of her own animals, which include my little Jack Russel Pepper, 4 Rats, her Pink tongue and Blue tongue skinks and a little fish called Cleo. 
Rose has a passion for rodents, and specifically rats. She often organises 'Rat Parties' with her friends who also own rats, and make her own hammocks for them.
Outside of work, Rose likes to fundraise for different animal charities, she also does Pet portraits and photography alongside running her own 'little pets' boarding from home.

Glenda Niemand

Glenda Niemand

Glenda has joined our team all the way  from South Africa, where she was previously working in a corporate environment, and part time as a  Life Coach.  She has now chosen to work in an environment with animals, which is close to her heart.  Her past experience enables her to provide a high level of customer care and interact well with everyone. 

Glenda has a passion for animals and has pets of her own.  In her personal time, she also looks for opportunities to be with animals, and has gained experience of caring for wildlife, through volunteering yearly at a wildlife orphanage in South Africa.

Family is very important to Glenda, and she looks for opportunities to organise family gatherings to stay connected with each other.  Her interests include travelling, exploring new environments,and her time relaxing is spent with nature and cooking.

Liz joined the Wheelhouse Team in 1995 as a locum nurse, and never left! Liz is a local girl, being born and bred in Chalfont St Giles. She now lives on the Bucks/Berks border with her husband and two young children, one of each model – ‘Eddie’ and ‘Katie’.

Liz has a cat called ‘Wellie’, who she rescued a few years ago, he is approximately 17 years old, has one eye and various other bits not quite right! Liz has three guinea pigs, Eric, Elvis and Ernie. In between working part time, trying hard to be a mum and various after school activities, she enjoys cycling with her children, cooking but prefers to eat out! (less mess!) and holidays abroad.

Ellie Robins

Ellie joined the Wheelhouse Reception team in January 2015.

She is very passionate about giving excellent animal and customer service. She is really enjoying the variety of the job and hopes to progress in the areas she is most interested in.

Ellie really enjoys sight seeing, travelling, photography, shopping, cooking, long country walks, spending time with friends and family. She also has a dog called Louie who is a working chocolate Cocker Spaniel, and she loves taking him for walks in the country side .

She loves going away on holiday to new places and is very much look forward to visiting New York and Canada this year.

Gemma Game

Gemma Game

Gemma started working at The Wheelhouse in November 2017. Before that she spent a year at St Tiggywinkles wildlife hospital where she gained her NVQ level 1 and 2 in animal care. Gemma has completed her first-year of veterinary nurse training as well.

After working with animals for a while, Gemma had a bit of a change and worked as a carer for the elderly and young disabled.

After having her son, Gemma decided that she wanted to go back to working with animals but also wanted interaction with people as well, so when the opportunity arose to work for The Wheelhouse, Gemma jumped at the chance and is thoroughly enjoying it!

In her spare time, she likes to volunteer for and support St John Ambulance.

At home Gemma and her family have pet fish.

Emma Poynting

Emma Poynting

Emma joined the Wheelhouse in October 2015 and already really loves working with the team, meeting the clients and their pets.

She has recently moved from Salisbury, Wiltshire where she has two cats; Chloe and Chilly and a 70 year old tortoise Rosie.
Emma graduated with a BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Reading in 2012, and has always been interested in wildlife and nature. She previously worked as a dispenser in a pharmacy which has given her knowledge in medicine and healthcare.
Her love of animals and conservation lead her to previously do voluntary work for two months at a bird and wildlife sanctuary and endangered breeding program in South Africa.

In Emmas spare time she loves travelling, photography, snow sports and crafts.
