Puppy Pre-School

Our ever popular Puppy Pre-School is run by two members of our team - Rebecca Wingfield and Elena Bullock.

Rebecca is one of our Receptionists at the Chesham & Amersham surgeries. She is currently studying (nearly completed) a BSc in Animal Behaviour with Sparsholt College. She has a keen interest in animal behaviour and welfare.

Elena is also one of our Receptionists but at our Chalfont St Giles surgery and takes a keen interest in animal behaviour; She will be enrolling in college this September to study Veterinary Nursing.

Once a new puppy has had a health check and started its vaccination course he or she will be invited to attend puppy pre-school, which is held  at our Chalfont St Giles Surgery and is a two part course.

The cost for this is £25 which is payable either at the time of booking or 1 week prior to the 1st class. Rebecca and Elena will then send out email confirmation.

Our puppy pre-school is run on a Wednesday evening and is a relaxed opportunity for us to discuss any problems you may be experiencing with your puppy, such as jumping up, mouthing, chewing, toilet training, diet, socialisation, handling and general pet care.

This is also an opportunity for your puppy to socialise with other puppies in a controlled manner so no puppy should get cornered or overwhelmed.

We ask that when you attend a class, you please bring with you the following:

  • Dog treats if your puppy has a sensitive stomach, allergies or if you have a set meal plan you are using e.g. raw.
  • A collar/harness and lead, although please do not bring an extendable lead; if this is all you have, we will exchange this for a regular lead when you arrive for the duration of the lesson.
  • If you know that your puppy is more motivated by toys rather than food, please feel free to bring their favourite toy with you.
