Sophie Ring RVN Veterinary Nurse and Student Coordinator

Sophie initially joined our reception team in 2018 and had always wanted to become a nurse. She started her Student Veterinary Nurse training in September 2020 and in September 2023 she sat her final exam and is pleased to say she achieved a distinction in her diploma, getting 100% on her two final exams!

Sophie enjoys all aspects of her role and has always had an interest in critical care nursing and spending time in theatre. Sophie is part of our Diabetic Clinical Team, supporting owners with diabetic pets which she finds very rewarding. Sophie has recently become part of our Chemotherapy Team and assists the vets with supporting patients through their chemotherapy treatments.

In September 2023, Sophie became Head of Students and Training. She supports all the student nurses at the Wheelhouse throughout their training, as well as organising work experience placements and placements for student vets.

Sophie lives in her own flat with her three-legged cat Messi who she recently adopted from Marjorie Nash Cat Rescue. She has always had animals growing up and has 2 cats and 2 dogs who live in her family home with her parents.

When she’s not at work, Sophie enjoys spending time with family and friends, swimming, exploring the local countryside, as well as travelling to different countries for volunteering projects as she has a keen interest in Wildlife and Conservation.
