RVN BSc (hons) Lauren joined the Wheelhouse team in April 2015 as a student nurse where she completed various training placements as part of her training. In July 2017 she graduated from Harper Adams University with a first class honours degree in Veterinary Nursing and Practice Management and qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse. Lauren gained experience working with animals in her first job as a kennel assistant which fuelled her interest into training as a veterinary nurse. Before going to university, Lauren spent part of her gap year in South Africa where she volunteered at a wildlife and big cat sanctuary. She hopes to go back there someday and do more volunteering abroad as an RVN.
Since being at the Wheelhouse, Lauren has developed a keen interest in medical nursing and takes on the role of diabetic nurse and dedicated endoscopy nurse amongst her other duties as Deputy Head Nurse. She is also a clinical coach; supporting the training of our student nurses. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys playing piano and saxophone as a hobby and is also a member of the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA).
Currently, Lauren doesn’t have any animals but is hoping to acquire some pets of her own in the very near future!
