Salary up to £63,000 DOE plus up to £2,000 Relocation Allowance
Wheelhouse Vets are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their established team! The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out consultations, performing procedures and operations, managing inpatients, and working with the team on a large and varied caseload.
Rota patterns that work for you

The rota will include working 4 days per week with a consistent day off a week. The shift patterns remain the same every week and there will be 1 in 4 weekends, alternating between a half and full weekend. There are no out of hours.

We are a first opinion small animal practice located in the picturesque countryside of the Chilterns, perfect for horse riding, cycling, and walking. We are surrounded by golf clubs and country parks like Wendover Woods, Black Park and Langley Park, all while being within an easy commute of London.
Wheelhouse Vets are a fully equipped and modernised RCVS accredited practice striving to achieve the highest standard of care in South Buckinghamshire. We have surgeries in Chesham, Chalfont St Giles, Amersham, and Beaconsfield. We are constantly evolving to suit our patients needs and client’s expectations, and have a variety of endoscopic equipment, laparoscopic equipment for bitch spays, an ultrasound scanner, DR and CR Radiography, a Class 4 Laser, 4 consult rooms and an in-house Lab.
A good life/work balance is important to us, so we have formulated a rota making this a priority. Furthermore, we have our own Wellness team, who been set up with its own budget, for events and support throughout the year, as we feel that this important for team morale and engagement.
Our Team
Our team is made up of 18 Veterinary Surgeons, 16 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 6 Student Veterinary Nurses, 2 Veterinary Auxiliaries and 13 Client Care staff. We also have an extensive support team consisting of a Practice Manager, 2 Clinical Directors, an Admin Manager, a Clinical Manager, a Facilities and Cremations Manager, an Insurance Co-ordinator and 1 Office staff.
As a practice we strongly believe in providing our team members with a nurturing and caring environment. We actively encourage and fully support team members’ professional ambitions by providing opportunities to develop with regular well-funded CPD. We have lots of members of the veterinary team either engaged in or having achieved certificates in oncology, ophthalmology, physiotherapy, dentistry, anaesthesia, emergency and critical care, surgery (including orthopaedics), small animal medicine, feline medicine, cardiology and dermatology. We also have members of the team with a special interest in animal behaviour and dog training undertaking Diplomas in these areas.
The excellent care and service that we provide to our clients and their pets is very important to us. A big part of being able to provide this is through ensuring that our team are fully equipped with all the tools that they need and working in the best possible environment. As a practice, we actively support a number of different charities both locally and nationally each year including StreetVet, Marjorie Nash Cat Rescue, and Macmillan Cancer Support.
