Our Oncology clinical service is run by one of our vets, James Warwick with the support of student veterinary nurse Jade Ward.

Salle de radiologie de la clinique vétérinaire Alliavet, dans l'Oise James graduated from The University of Bristol in 2011 and later achieved a Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip) in Clinical Oncology with distinction at the University of Birmingham in 2018.

James has spent the past three years gaining further experience in oncology and has treated many patients here at The Wheelhouse.

What Does An Oncology Consult Include?

What Does an Oncology Consult Include?

Initial Consultation- 40 minutes 

  • Thorough review of clinical history 
  • Review of any existing laboratory and pathology reports 
  • Full physical assessment  
  • Discussion regarding treatment options  

Depending on the condition, James may also recommend further test or investigations which will be scheduled following the appointment.

James will arrange any follow up consultations if needed, to ensure the best case continuity possible for you and your pet.

James can see a wide range of oncological conditions including:

  • Lymphoma
  • Mast Cell Tumours
  • Haemangiosarcoma
  • Soft Tissue Sarcoma
  • Histiocytic Sarcoma
  • Melanoma
  • Osteosarcoma
  • Transitional Cell Carcinoma (Bladder Cancer)
  • Anal Sac Apocrine Gland Adenocarcinoma
  • Mammary Carcinoma
  • Prostatic Carcinoma
  • Leukaemia
  • Multiple Myeloma

Prices

Our prices are usually significantly lower than at specialist referral centres and so can be a good option for clients and pets who cannot proceed with full specialist referral.

Booking An Appointment

How Do I Arrange An Appointment For This Service?

If you are already a Wheelhouse client, please discuss this with your usual vet, who can arrange for you to be seen by the Oncology clinical service.

If you are not already registered with the Wheelhouse Vets, then please contact your usual vet to request an appointment with our Oncology clinical service.

A member of our team will then give you a call to book your appointment, and also confirm the booking via email.
